Make things better by making better things.
Once we accept a role, whether as a student or an employee, for instance, we think our agency simply vanishes within an institution and social norms.
From there, it’s easy to get seduced by someone else’s metrics. Someone else’s priorities. Someone else’s definition of success.
The problem is we imagine someone else doing the things that scare us the most. And so, we fall back and hide in plain sight.
That’s a choice. And if we are stuck in a role that we wish to break out of, start small. Do something daring. Don’t even worry about taking credit. What would that do to change your posture?
