Make things better by making better things.
The problem with working with clay is that you can mold it into anything. It doesn’t push back enough to create real constraints.
On the other hand, gravity is indifferent. It’s a constant force we push against our entire lives. A climber on the rock is always fighting that pull.
There’s a metaphor buried in there: we get to decide what to work with. The reality is that if nothing ever pushes back on us, we drift into the path of least resistance.
